How to Maintain a Lace Front Wig


In my journey of exploring hair fashion, I have developed a love affair with lace front wigs. These wigs create an amazing natural effect with large areas of lace design, but their maintenance is also unique. ​


Let’s talk about the maintenance of the hair first. I remember that once, I wore the curly m cap wigs of lace front wig series for a few days in a row, and the lace human hair wigs became a little rough. Since then, I pay special attention to daily care. After each wearing, I will gently comb my hair with a wide-tooth comb, starting from the ends and slowly working upwards, which is effective in preventing tangles. Once a week, I deep-condition the wig, just like I treat my own hair. I will use a mild shampoo specially designed for human hair lace wigs, soak them in warm water, gently stir them to remove dust, and then rinse them with clear water. Then, use conditioner and leave it on the hair for about 10 minutes to nourish the hair and restore its luster and softness. After washing out the conditioner, I will gently press it with a dry towel to absorb excess water, and then let it dry naturally instead of a hair dryer, because high temperature will damage the wig material. ​

Maintenance of the lace part. The large lace edge of the lace front wig is a major highlight and a key area for maintenance. Once, I accidentally pulled the lace edge of the m cap wigs and almost broke it, which scared me. Since then, I have been extra careful when taking out and wearing wigs. As I am wearing a glue lace front wig, it is much easier to maintain than traditional wigs fixed with glue. But even so, I still carefully check the lace for signs of wear or looseness before and after each wear. When cleaning lace, I will use a mild lace cleaner, spray it on the lace, and then gently brush it with a soft bristled brush. The action must be gentle to avoid damaging the lace. After cleaning, let it air dry naturally. In order to extend the service life of lace, I will also apply some specialized protective liquid on the edges of the lace after drying to enhance its toughness. ​


In general, although the maintenance of lace front wigs requires some effort, the focus is on the hair and lace parts, but the glue-free design does reduce a lot of tedious steps such as removing glue when maintaining traditional wigs. As long as you master the correct method, you can keep the lace front wig in good condition for a long time and continue to bring us natural and amazing hairstyle effects. ​
